Following these simple tips can also help:
  1. Make sure you get a good night’s sleep, at night time. Try to get 8 hours of sleep at night.
  2. Have a balanced diet. Don’t forget to buy plenty of fruits and vegetables on your grocery shop. Try to have health study snacks rather than junk food. Also, have regular meals; breakfast, lunch and dinner, at the appropriate times.
  3. Schedule in 30 minutes of moderate exercise every day.
  4. Break up your study in to manageable chunks, such as 55 minutes of a study then a 5 minute break.
  5. Write out your goals and check them off when you complete them. Visual stimulus can be great at reinforcing that you are achieving things.
  6. If you become overwhelmed, try to refocus:
    • Method 1: Breath Out. Take a deep breath in, and then breathe out all the way, then continuously breathe out until you can’t breathe out any more. Repeat until you feel calm.
    • Method 2: The 5 senses. Find something that positively appeals to one of your five senses (touch, sigh, sound, smell or taste). Focus on this until you clear your mind and are calm.
